It is a well known that – Art, freedom and creativity will change society faster than politics.
The same we believe at Ramagya. We have a highly and diversely accomplished team of art teachers, several of whom are practising artists. They are committed to :
- developing pupils’ practical ability and technique across a range of media from painting and drawing to textile work,
- to develop the art of ceramic using,
- installations and digital design,
- in addition to growing their knowledge of the theory and history of art.
Pupils are also strongly encouraged to initiate their own projects, whether in a lesson context or as an extra-curricular activity, as it is often when personal intellectual curiosity is worked out aesthetically that the most outstanding work is produced. Observation and appreciation of the work of others is also encouraged and the wealth of galleries and museums within easy reach of the school serves as an invaluable asset.
We try to bring out the creativity of our students by helping them in three different fields of art and craft :
Sculpting
The key factors of understanding any people is in its art i.e. : its writing, painting, sculpture. At Ramagya School, we provide our students with professional activity guidance through best of sculpting minds in India. Regular classes are conducted under the leadership and supervision of professional artists who train the students on various aspects of sculpture. We encourage our students to pursue this art and even take it as a career option. They are taught not just the basic principles but are trained in the right way to use various tools and techniques of sculpture.
Fine Arts
The world of Fine Arts is like an ocean of opportunities for creative minds when it comes to experimenting and articulating themselves. Our State of Fine Arts room houses all the latest in the field amenities, thus encouraging students to realize their inherent talent with a wide range of ideas, materials, textures, colours and forms. Through Art, the students convey creation, performance and study. We believe “that every artist was first an amateur” and thus, various activities are organized at regular intervals to encompass a broad, practice-based philosophy in Fine Arts amongst the students. Art education teaches students how to interpret, criticize, use visual information, how to try new things, manage risk, handle failure and make choices based on it.
Craft
We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master. The purpose of indulging students in Crafts at Ramagya is that it is goal oriented. The artists at Ramagya are committed to developing pupils’ practical ability and technique across a range of media from painting and drawing to textile work, ceramics, installations and digital design, in addition to growing their knowledge of the theory and history of art. Pupils are also strongly encouraged to initiate their own projects, whether in a lesson context or as an extra-curricular activity, as it is often when personal intellectual curiosity is worked out aesthetically that the most outstanding work is produced. During the Exhibitions, the art-e-facts thus prepared are the most appreciated items on display. Crafting teaches kids the consequences if they don’t follow the steps, and why they should do things the right way the very first time. It also helps to improve teamwork, communication and social skills in the students.
